Every time I visit a new place,I get awestruck by the creation of almighty. In this world every city, town , state and country has their own beauty, culture , color , architecture , history ,cuisine and religion , and they all are beautiful in their own way. So,why restrict ourselves to a defined place or culture. Travelling makes me realize that there is so much beyond my knowledge and perception. Every time I meet a new person or try a new cuisine, I bow my head to the supreme power,whom we call God and have given different names.
Vacations are the time when we get an opportunity to explore a new place whether a Country or a state , and sometimes re visiting old places can also be so much fun. Now before I start a journey, I prefer to do a small research about the place,like where to go and what to visit and what to skip. Most of the time I have purpose of taking a break, sometimes its for exploring the unexplored or in search of some interesting cuisine and sometimes it can be for pure leisure.
No matter how much you plan a trip, sudden trips are always fun. I just love those confusion like last minute packing,checking with the hotels, screaming and shouting at each other for not planning and reaching at the airport or station just in time. They all gives goosebumps and create memories,which we love to cherish later. My recent trip to Indonesia was just one of those kinds. Suddenly middle of the week,my hubby man decided to take us on a small relaxing trip and at the middle of the night he comes to me and tell me that we will be leaving tomorrow. What else we spend the rest of the night talking and searching on net about the best deal possible, woke up late in the morning,did our packing and literally run to our destination Bintan, a small island in Indonesia.
Bintan is one of the most popular island in Indonesia,which attract a very good number of tourist. Reaching Bintan is not a big deal,takes around 1hr15mints by ferry from Singapore. Ferries are available in every one hour. There is also direct flight to Bintan from Singapore.
We decided to make Bintan Lagoon Resort our home for the next two days,and indulge ourselves in complete leisure activities.
We reached around 4.30 in the evening and let me tell you that Lagoon resort has their own private beach and ferry service called Mozaic. Mozaic is a 200 seater ferry and has refreshment counters inside.
Bintan Lagoon Resort is a 22 year old property and is spread over 300 kilometers. The property has both private villas with swimming pool as well as sea and garden facing rooms. As we opted for a sea facing room,minutes on our arrival we were escort to our room and the view from the balcony was spectacular.
Soon after getting freshen up,we wanted to have some light refreshments,so went to the Mozo cafe which serve traditional Indonesian layered cake and breads along with tea and coffee. My little one choose to have a doughnut while I opted for green tea and hubby man went for latte. We were very impressed with the food quality and their hospitality.
My daughter was too excited to visit her play area,so soon after finishing our coffee we went to the Club house,which had a big playing area for kids along with a kids cafe. They even have care takers to look after the kids,while the parents can have some good time if they want.
Now apart from the kids area,the club house also have a well equipped gym, table tennis and billiard courts.
Finally its was dinner time and by now all of us are tired too, so from leisure club we went directly to the Multi cuisine restaurant called FIESTA . The food was fantastic, they serve in both ways Al a carte and buffet. I meet an Indian chef named Chef Muhammad Ali,who was extremely friendly and belongs to Hyderabad (India). He will serve you every Indian meal possible.
Next day I got up quite early around 5.30 AM . The day was quite gloomy which was good in way because it means we can spend some more time in the beach without getting tanned. My little fella had a wonderful time playing and making castle in the sand.
Since this was a leisure trip for us, I devoted my next few hours in the Spa. In Bintan you will be spoiled for choices when it comes to choosing a spa, from Ayurveda to Kedaton special milk bath,they provide a huge range of body treatments which also includes foot reflexology.
If morning was for beach,swimming and spa then evening was for having some me time walking along the beach. The dawn was beautiful and very relaxing.
This trip was awesome, I came back with lot of energy and motivation in life. Such breaks are a must for everyone,it makes you feel close to nature and gives us a chance to nurture yourself. If
you are in Singapore or wanted to visit Singapore and its surrounding countries,you can keep this island in your list and I am sure this island will not disappoint you.
