When I think of Protein, I think of barbecues, my favourite snack of quinoa, lentils and brown rice. I love to have a yummy roasted chicken for dinner, for lunch maybe a light and delicious piece of grilled fish......I also adore having a big pot of black beans going on stove, perfect for making tacos or enjoying with a side of brown rice. In fact I love all kind of beans and of course as anyone who has ever set foot in my house knows lentils of every colour.

I appreciate protein packed foods because they are savoury and delicious and because protein help my body to do so many things. Every time I lift a weight, do a crunch or hold a plank. Every time I pick my daughter. Every time I can haul my suitcase up the stairs or help someone else with heavy bags. The protein that I eat throughout the day gives my body the resources it needs to take care my bones and muscles, supporting me so that I can support myself and support the people around me.

I want to be as strong as possible, as healthy as possible, as continually capable as possible. Being capable is my number one top priority, so I make sure to eat my protein from variety of different sources, from egg whites with breakfast, to lentils with rice at lunch, to my favourite , whole grain quinoa, along with chicken or fish for dinner. Protein contains the ingredients that allow my body to build and repair, and nourishes my physical self. Protein is the source of my strength.

Chicken breast are the best lean muscle building protein. Don't get stuck in the monotony of eating bland baked chicken breast day in and day out.You can shred cooked chicken with two forks and toss it with vinegar or you can also try this recipe which gives extra nutrition to your dish with crispy peanuts and dates.

Recipe Of Crisp Chicken Cake

Ingredients :


  • Boneless Chicken Breast 85 gms (21 g protein)
  • Peanut 25 gms
  • Cashew nut 25 gms
  • Dates 7-8
  • Raisings 15 gms
  • Black Pepper
  • White pepper
  • Salt
  • GarMasala Powder 1/2 tbs
  • Red Chilli Powder 1/3 tbs 

Method :

  • Clean the chicken breast and keep it in a plate,next sprinkle some salt, white and black pepper and keep aside.
  • For the stuffing soak the dates for 15 mints then boil them, cut them into small pieces.
  • In a pan add some oil and saute the nuts with dates and raisings,add some pepper,garam masala and salt.
  • Put the stuffing on the chicken breast and roll the chicken, tie the chicken piece with a kitchen string.
  • In a pan take two cup of water and bring to boil,then add the tied chicken into the boiling water and cover the lid. Boil the chicken for 15 mints.
  • In another Pan add some oil and shallow fry the boiled chicken,allow it to cool then slowly remove the string and cut the chicken into round pieces.
