Street Fun
02:32Kolkata is the king of street food in India, with a mishmash of stalls selling all variety of street snacks and dishes including traditional fare like Puchhka (fried sphere crisps with tamarind water dipping sauces),jhalmuri (seasoned rice puffs with dal ,peanuts.onion, coconut slices and topped with mustard oil and green chillies) and singara ( samosas) as well as street eats derived from other regional cuisines. From nawabi khati roll to South Indian Dosas every dish is available on the streets of Kolkata.
No matter how much my tummy is full I always fell hungry whenever I am on the streets for work or for shopping. Its amazing to see worlds cuisine coming together on the streets. I mean whether am craving for Lebanese food or Chinese all I have to do is to walk for five minutes and options are like pouring on me. No matter how much a Bengali want Kolkata to change am sure no one will ever want any changes in the city food life. I can confidently say every single person in this city is a big time foodie in fact the city cant afford to have a non foodie.
Though fast food centers are rooted in every lane of this city, still there are some places which are ruling the footpaths for ages. One such place is Lords Bakery Crossing in South Kolkata. One just have to name a Dish and their plate will be ready. Its almost unbelievable but its true that every other cuisine is available there. Here the chefs are not trained nor they have worked with some star hotels but still they prepare this dishes with such ease and comfort as if they are doing it for ages . Street foods are really an integral part of Kolkata.
